Dead to Sin

How are we to live

Paul addresses something that we need to truly be attentive to . Many have asked this before. “If God is merciful, and forgives our sin - can we then go in living sinful lives and bank on God’s grace to forgive us?”

Paul is clear from the beginning, he says “Absolutely not”

And the reason is because we should be dead to sin, when we received the gift of grace and were baptized, we too died with Christ and share in His resurrection - we then should not chase after sinfulness.

He goes on to explain it further - Christ died once and for all , and the death he died, he died to sin. We must consider ourselves dead to sin also!

The warning

Paul goes on to tell us that whatever we obey, we are slaves to, if we obey Christ we are slaves to righteousness, but if we obey sin we are slaves to it.
